
Competition
Age Divisions:
All Dancers must be 18+ years of age.
Time Limits:
Small Groups - 3:00 minutes
Large Groups - 4:00 minutes
***Additional time is available at $5 per dancer per additional minute for both small and large groups.
Style Divisions:
Tap
Tap routines must consist primarily of tap technique. Recorded tap sounds are not permitted.
Jazz
Jazz routines must consist of primarily of jazz technique.
Ballet/Pointe
Routines must consist of ballet technique including classical steps and movement.
Hip Hop
Routines should consist of hip hop and street dance styles.
Jazz Funk
Routines that blend the technical precision and fluidity of jazz w/ the groove, attitude, and bold movements of Funk & Hip Hop
Open/Acro
Anything that does not apply to the above listed categories, Including song/dance, baton/pom, ethnic, ballroom, and Acro. Acro routines must consist of 50% acrobatic/gymnastic stunts.
Musical Theatre
Routines featuring any style of dance interpreting a song/character from a Broadway Show, Musical, Movie, etc.
Lyrical
Routines that demonstrate a mix of jazz and ballet techniques incorporating emotional and storytelling elements
Contemporary/Modern
Routines consisting of modern and ballet technique, reaching beyond the standard jazz vocabulary.
Salsa/Bachata/Latin Fusion
A high-energy blend of traditional Latin dance styles fused with contemporary movement. Latin Fusion combines the fiery rhythms of Salsa, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Reggaeton, and more, creating a vibrant and expressive style that’s both passionate and powerful.
Heels
Heels is a fierce, empowering dance style performed in high heels, blending elements of jazz, hip-hop, and commercial dance.
scoring:
TECHNIQUE- 30 POINTS
PERFORMANCE- 30 POINTS
CHOREOGRAPHY- 20 POINTS
OVERALL IMPRESSION- 10 POINTS
MUSIC/COSTUMING- 10 POINTS
Our judges are members of the Professional Commercial Industry. They are some of the most encouraging, friendly, and knowledgeable Teacher/Adjudicators in the business who have already served as a judge on several Regional and National Dance Competitions. In Addition to score sheets, judges will make constructive comments for each routine they adjudicate.

Music Requirements:
All Music must be uploaded thru the Registration Portal 1 week before the Event Date
Music must be submitted as: .mp3, .m4a, or .aif
Please be provide to provide back-up music if necessary, iPhones, Computers or Flashdrive
In the event the incorrect music is uploaded during the performance, Notify Backstage IMMEDIATELY. If the routine performs more than 45 seconds, the routine can not be performed again. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THAT ALL MUSIC HAS BEEN UPLOADED CORRECTLY
Props:
Please note that large props are not permitted at this event due to space and safety considerations. However, handheld props that can be easily carried on and off stage by the performer(s) are welcome and encouraged! if you're unsure whether your prop meets the guidelines, feel free to reach out for clarification. thematic content should be expressive and inclusive—no culturally insensitive or offensive portrayals.

Additional Details:
If a routine is a tie, tie will be broken 1st by Technique, 2nd by Overall Impression, 3rd by Judges’ Discussion.
Routines must perform in scheduled order unless discussed prior with The Comeback. Consideration is given for quick costume changes.
All dancers authorize the use of their image in photos and video for The Comeback advertisement purposes
